On 6th June, we’re migrating Asymmetrist to Substack to bring you a cleaner, faster, more focused reading experience—with better support for audio, mobile, comments, and community features. It also offers a clearer interface for organising our growing collection of articles and should resolve recent email deliverability and login issues.
This sets the stage for what’s next: more diverse storytelling, new tools, and a sharper, more connected Asymmetrist.
Substack has overtaken our current platform in every meaningful way: smoother mobile UX, cleaner publishing, built-in community tools, and far fewer technical workarounds. It fits us better—and it frees us to focus fully on the writing and the value.
To make this change, we’re updating our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, which will take effect on 6th June 2025.
From that date, Substack becomes our permanent platform for email and web delivery. To keep receiving Asymmetrist, you’ll need to agree to:
Our incoming update to Privacy Policy and Terms of Service
Substack’s Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Collection Notice
If you’re happy with this, you don’t need to do anything. Enjoy Asymmetrist as normal!
If not happy with these policy updates, you must opt out by 6th June 2025 by clicking Unsubscribe at the bottom of this email. If you’re viewing this directly on the site, you can also unsubscribe via your account settings: click your Account button (top right) → “Emails” → “Manage” → “Unsubscribe from all emails.”
Just so you know: we’ve updated the Privacy Policy to reflect Substack’s platform and analytics tools, and to meet UK GDPR and ICO compliance. We’re sharing this not just because it’s required, but because it’s right. Reader trust depends on transparency.

What’s Changing and Why It Matters
On 6th June 2025, we’re updating our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service to reflect our move to Substack and to ensure full compliance with UK GDPR and ICO rules.
When you subscribed, you provided your first name, last name, and email address. That hasn’t changed. But here’s what’s new:
Key Changes
Substack becomes our email and publishing platform. Asymmetrist remains the Data Controller; Substack acts as our Processor.
Your data will be processed outside the UK/EU, with safeguards like Standard Contractual Clauses in place.
Cookies will now be used to support features and analytics. Our previous site used none.
Google Analytics (GA4) or similar tools will replace our current cookie-free tool (Plausible). These tools will only be activated if you give explicit consent via Substack’s cookie banner when you visit the site.
You can manage your cookie preferences at any time via that banner or through your browser settings.
📌 If you visit our new Substack based site before or after migration, Substack will present a cookie consent banner where you can choose to accept or reject analytics and other non-essential tracking. Nothing is enabled without your approval.
If you disagree with our updated policies, terms, or cookie usage, you may unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.
Once more, you can review the updated terms here:
Asymmetrist's New Privacy Policy. Effective 6 June.
Asymmetrist's New Terms of Service. Effective 6 June.
Substack’s: Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Collection Notice
Your Options:
To comply with data law and best practice, we’re opening a 14-day opt-out window, beginning 23rd May 2025.
If you agree with the updated policies and are happy using Substack, no action is needed. Enjoy Asymmetrist as normal!
If not happy with these policy updates, please unsubscribe by 6th June 2025 using the link at the bottom of this email. If you’re viewing this directly on the site, you can also unsubscribe via your account settings: click your Account button (top right) → “Emails” → “Manage” → “Unsubscribe from all emails.”After that date, all readers who haven’t opted out will be automatically migrated to Substack under the new terms.
Once migrated, you’ll receive a final welcome email from Substack—repeating this information and giving you one last opportunity to opt out, just in case you missed it. This will delete all your data instantly.
Thank you for reading—and for sticking with us through this change.
We’ll see you soon—at a bigger, sharper, and more connected Asymmetrist.
And good trading to you all!
